Making a Baby: Penelope Simons

I began rummaging through my old images for no particular reason and found myself sifting through my wife's pregnancy pictures from our daughter and thought it would be an absolutely great topic to start and show the amazing journey that a woman's body goes through during pregnancy.

Before the belly even began to grow, my wife's poor feet slowly but slightly began to swell and that was the first real sign we saw of the changes in a long line of amazing changes to her body.

And soon after the swollen feet the belly decided it ought to catch up and catch up it did! Before we knew it she couldn't see her feet to save her life!

Then those clothes that used to fit so well really didn't fit all too well, and so those remained tucked away and only used in doors, although due to the fact that in Texas the weather is just truly unfair for a pregnant woman to have to endure, we did take a walk one evening during which my wife let her belly run free. It was a very freeing and eye-catching stroll!

And then came that excruciatingly long stretch of those last couple of months where we both became quite impatient and decided to have fun with the belly while we both had access to it! And despite her best efforts even prenatal yoga couldn't do the trick.

At 39 weeks when we least expected it, my wife's water broke just as we were about to eat dinner, and so at the last minute we scrambled to get our own personal things in order and grabbed the hospital bag and headed off to the hospital and after a night of laboring our beautiful baby girl Penelope Lee Simons was born.
